Photobook-David Bradford-Drive-By Shootings Photographs by a New York taxi driver Hardback Pages: 480 Size: 22 x 15.5 cm Published: 2000 First edition Language: English, French, German Publisher: Konemann Stock number: RG1663/0124 Price: £8 + P&P This book has got to have one of the best concepts I've seen in a while. The idea of a taxi driver while driving around New York taking pictures of the city from downtown to uptown is one of most original ideas. The pictures in the book give you a true feel for New York City. It catches the glitzy, fancy parts of the life, while also showing you the real people in the city. The actual photo quality is fairly impressive and some of the shots are particularly impressive. There isn't a part of the city that isn't captured. The text is interesting, and in 3 languages. Definitely a great book for any photo-documentary / photo-journalism fan, or New York lover.

One the other hand, it is a blissfully unassuming portrait of ordinary life- the unknown young woman gazing dreamily from the balcony of her hotel room, or the old woman who walks the same street every morning in her pink bathrobe, just to stop and talk to a passerby. Through his own stunning photography and captivating prose and poetry, life. love. beauty. chronicles the author's life growing up just off the Sunset Strip, coming into his own as a young aspiring actor, looking for love and understanding, negotiating the seductions and disappointments of Hollywood, landing a plum role in a hit television series, encountering and embracing his fans, travelling the globe to promote his work, and striving to stay connected to his closest friends and loved ones.

Condition: Very good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good, small tear to front bottom right. Landscape format. Grey decorated boards in black & white pictorial jacket. Over 300 black & white photographs. With an afterword by Andrei Navrozov. Locusts is a book of photographs that, in the words of its creator, Sasha Gusov, ‘is an album that pulls together the concept of mass mentality – photographs that examine the way people eat, the tourist eternally behind the camera, the obsession with consumerism. It is an anthropological investigation of contemporary man – who we are, who we have become and how absurd we can be at times.’ Each of the book’s ten sections present a catalogue of human weakness but in the warm spirit of humour and irony. The outcome of five years of work and observation around the world, these brief snatches and moments are a true representation of what humanity does when it thinks that no one is looking. -
Photobook - David Bailey - Chasing Rainbows
Hardback Size: 33.5 x 27 cm Pages: 224 Illustrations: over 150 colour illustrations Published: 2001 Publisher: Thames & Hudson Ltd Stock number: 017789/0123 Price: £25 + P & P Hardback. Commissioned by the best - known fashion magazines of the time, including Italian and French Vogue, these portraits of what Vogue once called 'The Bailey Kind of Girl' include models such as Jean Shrimpton, Marie Helvin, Penelope Tree, and Bailey's wife, Catherine Dyer. Blended with these are Bailey's startling ethnographic portraits of, for example, Asaro mud men and Indian dancers, and his own paintings, at the heart of which lies an abstract kind of beauty. In his illuminating introduction, Robin Muir sets these photographs in the context of the period in which they were taken and reminds us that for over forty years Bailey has challenged our notions of female beauty with his own highly personal vision. -

Photobook-David Plummer-7 Years of Camera ShakeAs humans, we are drawn to predators like no other group of animals. They are the epitome of form and function, and have a level of perfection that we revere. In 2009, wildlife expert, conservationist and photographer David Plummer was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. Rather than let it defeat him, he was galvanised to grab life by the horns and achieve the perfect wildlife shot. Over the next seven years, he did much more than that. The result is this breathtaking collection of over 200 of his best and favourite photographs of exotic and wild animals in their natural habitats. To capture them, David travelled to some of the most remote and stunning locations across the world, from Africa to India to the Galápagos Islands and back to his native England. 7 Years of Camera Shake showcases seven years of immersive and illuminating photography: of predators on the prowl, of prey in the clutches of death, of the inexplicable synchronisation of nature, of the beautiful relationship between mother and child, and much, much more. Plummer’s work has been featured in wildlife publications and national and international press, and now the work he has produced since his diagnosis is showcased here, accompanied by his thoughts and anecdotes on how he achieved each perfect shot. Book in very good condition, dust jacket slightly worn top and bottom.Hardback Size: 26.4 x 29.6 cm Pages: 256 Published: 2017 Publisher: Unbound Stock number: RG1633/0124 Price: £30 + P & P

The text is provided by Fay Weldon, a close friend of both David and Catherine Bailey.
