In his recent series, ‘Root Down’, Victor delves into the theme of grounding and resilience by exploring the beauty and symbolism of root vegetables. Each image captures the rugged textures, earthy colours, and intricate details of these vegetables, inviting viewers to connect with the land and the nourishing role of the soil. The series is also a reflection of Victor’s personal journey of planting new roots in a foreign land, mirroring the experience of many. Through his ‘Root Down’ photographs, Victor encourages a mindful appreciation of the earth and the unassuming, essential elements that sustain both our bodies and our sense of place.

Victor Anton is a professional food, drink and commercial photographer from Northern Spain and now based in the UK. His career began in the food manufacturing industry, where he developed a profound appreciation for the origins, transformation and beauty of ingredients. Working closely with food products at every stage of production, Victor cultivated a meticulous eye for detail and a technical expertise that he now brings into his photography. His images capture food not only as a subject but as a story, celebrating its journey from raw material to finished product.

Victor’s photographic style is strongly influenced by his Mediterranean roots, with a focus on natural light, rich textures and vibrant colours that reflect his Spanish heritage. However, he expertly adapts each project to the client’s vision, making his work versatile yet distinct. His portfolio includes collaborations with companies in the UK and Spain, and he works both on-location and remotely to meet his clients’ creative needs. Victor’s work has been featured in prominent venues, including Leicester College, Brighton’s Photo Fringe Festival and now Gallery No1, establishing his presence within the artistic community.
